Quarry House had a “Wordsearch Week” from 10th to 16th March, using a bespoke wordsearch puzzle invented by a former resident! All the words in the wordsearch were names of people and things at Quarry House! Over 20 staff and residents finished the puzzle, and comments were how much they enjoyed it, and how much it made them think!
One completed wordsearch was pulled out of a hat by its author, and they won a big box of Milk Tray Chocolates! The others who had a go had a runner-up prize of a Kit Kat to have on their next tea break (maybe while doing another wordsearch?!)

The “Why not get involved” in Quarry House’s “Sunflower Summer of 2025” has been rolled out this week to residents, family members, and staff.
Follow the progress of the growth of our sunflowers over the up and upcoming newsletters.
A plant and book sale was held at Quarry House to raise money towards an interactive table for residents’ use. Plant and book sale held from 28th of March.
Spring must be in the air as the Gardening Club has started again at Field House. One of the residents bought some primroses on a trip out, and a small group helped to plant them.

Field House would also like to welcome our new gardener, Rose. Today, we took a resident with us and filled the car with plants for the home.
Last, but not least, Field House is holding an Easter Raffle on the 17th of April for which we are currently accepting donations.
Our local vicar for Thornbury, Revd Joy, got married at St. Arildas church in Oldbury-on-Severn. We helped to decorate the church with flowers and gates with greenery. After the service, local children tied the gates, and the happy couple threw them coins to open them – a wedding tradition.
Revd Joy has visited Beech House many times to meet with the residents and hold a service. We value this link with the community, as many residents have been involved with the church locally… We wish Revd Joy and her husband Mike a wonderful life together.
Marks and Spencer very kindly donated us lots of pretty pots of hyacinths for our home! 🌷🪻 We made our way around the home, handing out plants to each resident to put in their bedrooms. Residents said it was a lovely surprise! Even the staff got to take a plant home as well.

Shout out to Beth for taking Venetia up to Thornbury. Venetia hasn’t been out for over 2 years as she has always been worried, but today we took a lovely bus journey up to Thornbury High Street.
We went for a look around Aldi, where Venetia picked up some of her favourite chocolate 🤣.
We then went into Greggs to get a cake so Venetia could take it home to have with a cup of tea. She let me in on a little secret that she never really wore fresh shoes; she was always in a good size heel ❤️.
We at Glebe House would like to say thank you to our sister home Beech House for sharing their flowers with us from M&S. They all went to our residents – this put a smile on their face 💐🩷💐🩷

We celebrated Carly as she gets ready to welcome her little bundle of joy! 🍼✨ She’s been such a fantastic part of our team, and while we’ll miss her, we couldn’t be happier for this exciting new chapter in her life.
Wishing Carly all the best – enjoy every moment of this special journey! We can’t wait to meet the little one! 💛👶
We celebrated Christine’s birthday! She enjoyed a wonderful day out with her family and returned to a lovely cake, ready to share the joy with the residents and staff. It was a heartfelt celebration filled with smiles and good company.
Happy Birthday, Christine! We hope this year brings you even more happiness and love.
Review Of The Month – Beech House
My aunt has stayed at Field House Care Home for just over a year. All staff are very accommodating and see to her welfare in a caring, compassionate manner. The nursing staff have been excellent in ensuring she is well looked after.
The food is cooked in the home, which is good, and cleanliness is a priority.
Their staff are welcoming, supportive, and friendly, and I would recommend the Care Home as it has been marvellous.
