🧼 Congratulations, Joseph! 🎉
At Quarry House, we recently held a “Win Yourself a Cleaning Bundle” quiz to help refresh our knowledge of the important infection prevention and control measures we use every day to keep our residents safe.
We are delighted to announce that Joseph was the lucky winner, chosen at random from all the correct entries! 🏆
The multiple-choice quiz was a fun and engaging way to reinforce best practices and highlight the vital role infection control plays in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our residents and colleagues.

🎵 Quarry House Collaborates with The Vassall Centre 🎵
Quarry House was delighted to recently collaborate with The Vassall Centre as our Social Engagement & Wellbeing Manager, Marcia, and Deputy Manager, Shelley, took our popular Singing for the Brain group out into the local community.
The special session was filled with music, laughter, and plenty of smiles, bringing people together for a wonderful afternoon of fun and engagement. Residents thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and the group received some fantastic feedback from those who attended.
The success of the session has already sparked excitement, with The Vassall Centre looking forward to hosting another Singing for the Brain event in the future.

🏅 Quarry House Hosts Its First Ever Sports Day! 🏅
Quarry House held its very first Sports Day, and what a fantastic success it was! With plenty of enthusiasm from residents and staff alike, the event was filled with fun, laughter, and friendly competition.
Residents from across the home came together to take part in a variety of games and activities, supported by our dedicated staff team. Four teams – Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow – competed throughout the afternoon, with everyone showing great team spirit and determination.
The event was organised by Janice and Michelle, with support from volunteer Leila, and could not have taken place without the help of staff members Tina, Shelley, Sarah, Amy, Pat, and Barny, who assisted residents throughout the day.
After a series of exciting games, the competition was closely fought. While two teams finished tied on points, Team Yellow was crowned the overall winner after winning the most individual events. 🏆💛
Every resident who participated received a medal in recognition of their efforts, while Team Yellow celebrated with a winners’ cup, medals, and a champagne balloon.

🧁💙 A Small Treat to Say a Big Thank You 💙🧁
Field House’s Operations Manager kindly treated the team to some delicious muffins as a small token of appreciation for all their hard work and dedication.
Working in care can be both physically and emotionally demanding, and it is the compassion, kindness, and commitment shown by our staff every day that makes Quarry House such a special home for our residents.
While muffins may seem like a simple gesture, they are a thoughtful reminder that every effort is valued. From the smiles shared with residents to the extra mile taken to support colleagues and families, your dedication makes a real difference.
A huge thank you to our Operations Manager for thinking of the team, and an even bigger thank you to every member of staff for your continued hard work and commitment.
💜 Trek26 Challenge for Alzheimer’s Society 💜
A huge well done to Joanne from Field House, who recently took part in the Alzheimer’s Society Trek26 Challenge in support of an incredible cause.
Setting off at 6:20 am under clear skies, Joanne made an excellent start to the trek. However, as the day progressed, temperatures rose significantly while participants crossed exposed fields and tackled challenging hills. After reaching the 10-mile water stop, Joanne made the difficult but sensible decision to stop due to the heat and in the interest of her safety.
Although disappointed not to complete the full distance, Joanne should be extremely proud of her achievement, determination, and fundraising efforts. Taking on a challenge like Trek26 is no small feat, especially in such demanding conditions.
So far, Joanne has raised £180 for the Alzheimer’s Society, helping to support people affected by dementia and fund vital research and services.

👏 Congratulations and welcome to the team! We look forward to supporting you in your new role and watching you continue to grow and succeed at Field House.

Employee Spotlight
We are delighted to congratulate two of our Quarry House carers, Gawaher and Kaltoum, on successfully completing their Care Certificate.
The journey was not always straightforward for either of them, but through determination, commitment, and the support of their colleagues, they both achieved this important milestone. Their success is a fantastic example of how teamwork and peer support can help us overcome challenges and reach our goals.
Gawaher, who primarily supports residents on Sky Unit, was proudly presented with her certificate by Alex, Registered Nurse and Manager of Sky Unit.
Kaltoum, who provides support across all units and is especially well known on Meadow Unit, received her certificate from Grace, our Clinical Lead.
The Care Certificate is an important achievement that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and values needed to provide high-quality care, and we are incredibly proud of both carers for their dedication and perseverance.
Review Of The Month – Field House
“My aunt was a resident here for two and a half years. She was unable to move. She was so kindly cared for by the staff.
The team brought live music to her room, brought her food, kept her clean and nursed her well.
The admin staff were very good too, helping us together with the management. I believe that all was done to make her comfortable when she passed away, and their support throughout was excellent. Thank you.“
