Bristol Care Homes is pleased to announce a new partnership with Hills Waste Solutions, who have been appointed as our recycling and waste management partner.
Under this partnership, all our four Bristol Care Homes — Glebe House in Almondsbury, Beech House in Thornbury, Field House in Horfield and Quarry House in Fishponds — will be supported by Hills Waste Solutions, with services delivered from their Avonmouth depot. This collaboration marks an important step forward in our ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible environmental practices.
Supporting Our Journey Towards Net Zero
The partnership will help Bristol Care Homes strengthen recycling performance, reduce waste, and better understand the environmental impact of our operations.
Enock Ebbah, Sustainability Manager at Bristol Care Homes, said:
“Our partnership with Hills Waste Solutions is a pivotal step towards achieving our long‑term Net Zero goals. By using real‑time waste data and a waste‑hierarchy‑led approach, we are significantly improving how we manage and recycle waste across our homes.”
Through Hills’ customer portal, our management teams can now access real‑time data on bin weights, sustainability metrics, and collection updates, enabling us to track progress, identify opportunities for improvement, and make more informed decisions.
A Shared Commitment to Environmental Responsibility
Hills Waste Solutions works closely with care providers to ensure compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement — values that align closely with our own.
Caroline Wilde, Divisional Director – Commercial & Industrial at Hills Waste Solutions, commented:
“Bristol Care Homes’ decision to partner with Hills demonstrates their strong commitment to progressing towards net zero. We’re proud to support their sustainability goals and work collaboratively to improve recycling performance and reduce carbon impact.”
Tula Welsh, Sales Manager at Hills Waste Solutions, added:
“Having access to real‑time data gives Bristol Care Homes the tools they need to measure progress, understand waste patterns, and continue making positive environmental choices.”
Looking Ahead
Rich Crocker, CEO of Bristol Care Homes, summarised the importance of the partnership:
“Working with Hills Waste Solutions aligns fully with both our short‑ and long‑term aims — reducing waste wherever possible, increasing recycling opportunities, and carefully considering the environmental impact of everything we do.”
At Bristol Care Homes, caring for people also means caring for the environment. This partnership reflects our commitment to making thoughtful, sustainable choices that benefit our residents, our teams, and the wider community.
