16 June 2026 will be remembered as a very special day for care home residents across Bristol.
As a proud long‑standing sponsor of the annual Care Homes Concert at Bristol Beacon, Bristol Care Homes was delighted to help bring together residents, families, carers, and community groups for an unforgettable afternoon of live orchestral music.
At Bristol Care Homes, we believe meaningful experiences such as music, arts, and community engagement play an important role in supporting wellbeing and quality of life for residents.
This year’s concert was the biggest and most successful yet, welcoming residents from 17 care homes across Bristol and the surrounding area, alongside family members, friends, and members of the wider community. Together, they experienced a truly unique performance by the internationally acclaimed Aurora Orchestra.
An Orchestra Like No Other
Known for their celebrated BBC Proms performances, Aurora Orchestra has become renowned for performing entirely from memory rather than from sheet music.
This unique approach allowed musicians to move freely throughout Beacon Hall, performing amongst the audience and creating an immersive experience unlike a traditional concert.
Residents were not simply watching a performance; they were part of it.
As Aurora Orchestra brought Mozart’s magnificent Jupiter Symphony to life, musicians appeared throughout the auditorium, creating moments of connection, surprise, and engagement that were especially meaningful for older people and those living with dementia.
The result was a concert filled with energy, participation, and shared joy.
Why We Continue to Support This Event
At Bristol Care Homes, we believe quality of life is about much more than care alone.

Music has a unique ability to support all of these things.
A familiar melody can spark memories. A live performance can lift spirits. Shared cultural experiences can bring people together in ways few other activities can.
This is why we have proudly supported the Care Homes Concert for several years and why we remain committed to helping make it accessible to care home residents across the region.

A Community Event That Brought People Together
One of the most rewarding aspects of the concert was seeing so many different groups come together.
Alongside care home residents and families, invitations were extended to community organisations from across Bristol and South Gloucestershire, helping create a truly inclusive event.

Working Together to Make It Possible
The concert was delivered by Bristol Beacon in collaboration with Aurora Orchestra, with support from Bristol Care Homes and Christie & Co.

Looking Ahead to 2027
The success of this year’s concert once again demonstrated the incredible power of music to connect people, spark memories, and create lasting moments of joy.
We are immensely proud to support an event that brings together care homes from across Bristol and the surrounding area, helping residents enjoy the same cultural opportunities many of us take for granted.
Following the wonderful feedback received this year, we are already looking forward to supporting the Care Homes Concert again in 2027.
