Congratulations to our new CQC Registered Manager, Natalia Wrzosek

We are so pleased to announce that Natalia Wrzosek, the nurse manager of our care home in Almondsbury, Glebe House, has received the CQC Registered Manager certification.

Why is it important to have a CQC Registered Manager?

As per the Care Quality Commission (CQC) confirmation letter, the Health and Social Care Act 2008 states that all providers (with a few exceptions) must have a registered manager. The role of the registered manager is vital in the successful running of a service given the requirement to supervise each regulated activity under the Act.

Moreover, the role of the registered manager is important in ensuring that people receive the safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led care they have every right to expect.

About our Almondsbury care home, Glebe House

Glebe House is part of our Bristol Care Homes group alongside Quarry House in Fishponds, Beech house in Thornbury, and Field House in Horfield. Glebe House has a long history of being awarded Outstanding by the CQC – please see here the links to the CQC report.

Following our latest inspection, the care home located in Almondsbury has achieved outstanding in four out of the five domains which the CQC is reviewing. And this could only be possible with the help of our team members who like, Natalia, focus on delivering high-quality care and service.

Meet Natalia WrzosekNatalia care home Almondsbury

Natalia joined the Bristol Care Homes family as a Deputy Nurse Manager in 2018 and became Nurse Manager at Glebe House in December 2021. She is a very valuable member of our care home team in Almondsbury, working closely with our Deputy Nurse Manager, Lucy Bolland, in providing excellence in care to both our residents and staff.

Natalia told us:

Can’t believe that my dream came true!

For the first time in my career, I needed to go through a CQC interview to become a registered Manager. Today I received my certificate of registration.

I’ve been qualified as an adult nurse for 12 years, and if someone had told me my 20 years old self that I’ll be managing an outstanding home I would not believe it.

Yet…here we are.

I am forever grateful for meeting amazing people on my path to help me grow and improve. It is true that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

I feel privileged to be a part of an amazing Bristol Care Homes team and for the people that I’m working with, I have a little message:

For all the special moments and celebrations, for bringing tears of joy, for the laughter, for getting through difficult COVID times when I was homesick and missing my family- you were my second family and I say THANK YOU.

In return, I can promise you my commitment and dedication to the role I was appointed to. I believe that together we will achieve great things and will make special memories.

This is truly one of the happiest moments in my life.”
