Quarry House Celebrates 10 Years of 5‑Star Food Hygiene Ratings!
Quarry House is incredibly proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone – 10 consecutive years of achieving a 5‑star food hygiene rating, every single year since the home first opened its doors in 2016.
This outstanding achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and exceptional standards maintained by our fantastic kitchen team. Their commitment to delivering high‑quality meals, maintaining excellent cleanliness, and ensuring the very best dining experience for our residents has truly shone through year after year.
The kitchen team’s passion and professionalism are at the heart of this success. Their efforts ensure that residents enjoy safe, nutritious, and delicious meals every day, and we are deeply grateful for the care they put into everything they do.
A Lovely Gift from the Newly Refurbished Co‑op in Fishponds!
The local Co‑op on Straits Parade, Fishponds, has recently reopened following a fresh refurbishment — and to celebrate, they kindly donated a wonderful food hamper to Quarry House.
All staff names were entered into a tombola, and we’re excited to share that the lucky prize winner was Annabel!
A huge thank you to Co‑op for thinking of our home and spreading kindness within the community. Your generosity is truly appreciated by everyone at Quarry House.

Quarry House was full of Irish spirit as residents, staff, and visitors enjoyed a fun-filled celebration of St Patrick’s Day. The morning began with an armchair trip to Ireland, where residents explored Irish culture, history, and traditions from the comfort of the home — a lovely way to start the day.
In the afternoon, everyone was treated to a lively performance of Irish songs from Nick at Mini Concerts, bringing music, smiles, and plenty of toe-tapping energy to the lounge.
Throughout the day, staff, residents, and visitors joined in the fun by picking envelopes from our Lucky Tree, each hoping to discover a special four‑leaf clover inside for the chance to win a prize. The excitement and anticipation added an extra spark to the celebrations!

Field House Receives Generous Donations from Local Volunteer Hanna
Field House is delighted to share that we recently received a wonderful donation from Hanna, a dedicated community volunteer who has spent years helping those in need.
Hanna began collecting surplus food seven years ago through the Blonde Angels Street Team. As her work grew, volunteers joined her, and the group expanded. Last year, they became SOS – Save Our Surplus, supporting homeless individuals, shelters, and families—all through volunteer efforts and store donations.
Today, SOS collects food from a variety of generous partners, including Aldi, Lidl, Asda, Tesco, M&S, Waitrose, KFC, and Nando’s.
We are incredibly grateful to Hanna for thinking of Field House and for her ongoing kindness in the community.

Employee Spotlight: Shahira’s Inspiring Journey From Carer to Clinical Lead
This month, we’re delighted to shine a spotlight on Shahira, whose remarkable growth at Bristol Care Homes continues to inspire us all.
Shahira first joined us as a Carer, bringing warmth, dedication, and an eagerness to learn. With the full support of Bristol Care Homes, she went on to complete her Nurse Training — becoming the very first carer in our homes to achieve this milestone through our development pathway.
Her commitment didn’t stop there. Through hard work and exceptional care, Shahira has now progressed even further, taking on the role of Clinical Lead at Field House. Her journey shows just how far passion and opportunity can take you.
You can read more about her story, recently featured in several local magazines, on our blog: https://www.bristolcarehomes.co.uk/shahiras-inspiring-journey-from-carer-to-registered-nurse-at-field-house/
Well done, Shahira — we are incredibly proud of you.
Review Of The Month – Field House
“I am the daughter‑in‑law of a service user. She was fortunate enough to be taken out in December by Field House staff and another resident to see the Christmas lights all around the Bristol area.
It was such a lovely experience for her, and the staff were caring, reassuring, and friendly, which put my MIL at ease as she has Alzheimer’s and really doesn’t like to go out that much.
She told me all about her adventure, and despite her memory issues, it has stayed with her as a lovely experience she still recalls.
Well done to the staff involved.“
