🎉 Tombola Winner’s Prize Sponsored by Beech House to 60+ Tea Room for Macmillan Fundraising!

Beech House was proud to support the Macmillan fundraising event held on 26th September by delivering a special Tombola prize to the 60+ Tea Room.

The prize was gifted to help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support – a cause close to many hearts. It’s wonderful to see our local community coming together to support such meaningful initiatives. Together, we care – and together, we make a difference.

🎉 Celebrating Chef Hany’s 50th Birthday!

This month, the team at Beech House came together to celebrate a very special occasion – Chef Hany’s 50th birthday! Known for his dedication, warmth, and hard work in the kitchen, it was a joy to mark this milestone with a heartfelt surprise.

Staff gathered to sing Happy Birthday, beautifully accompanied by Zoe on the piano, creating a warm and memorable moment for everyone. It was a lovely way to show our appreciation for Hany’s continued commitment and the positive energy he brings to our home.

🎉 Beech House Staff Bring Brazil to Life! 💃🍹

Beech House was bursting with colour and joy as staff and residents celebrated Brazil Day together. We kicked off with a virtual flight to Brazil, exploring its culture, cuisine, and wildlife. Residents enjoyed dulce de leche on sweet bread, a nostalgic treat, before diving into a delicious Brazilian lunch prepared by our amazing kitchen team.

The afternoon was full of samba music, dancing, and limbo fun, with staff dressed in bright colours and even our home managers joining the party.

A big congrats to Dinah, winner of our Rio Carnival Mask Competition with 33 votes! Chef Ryan wrapped up the day with exotic fruits and homemade Brigadeiros, paired with refreshing mojitos and fruit juices.

Huge thanks to all the staff who made the day so special – you brought the spirit of Brazil to Beech House!

👨‍🍳 Congratulations to Our Long-Serving Chefs! Marius and Duan Achieve Distinctions in Food Safety

We’re delighted to celebrate a fantastic achievement by two of our dedicated chefs at Glebe House – Marius and Duan – who have both earned distinctions in their Level 3 Food Safety refresher course!

With years of service and commitment to providing high-quality, nutritious meals to our residents, Marius and Duan continue to set the standard for excellence in our kitchen. Their recent success reflects not only their professionalism but also their ongoing dedication to maintaining the highest standards in food hygiene and safety.

We’re thrilled to celebrate a special milestone for Phil, who recently joined the team at Glebe House and is also new to the care sector. Despite being at the start of his journey, Phil has already shown great commitment and enthusiasm – and we’re delighted to announce that he has successfully achieved his National Care Certificate!

This nationally recognised qualification marks an important step in Phil’s development and reflects the high standards of care we uphold at Glebe House. It’s always inspiring to see new team members embrace the values of compassion, professionalism, and continuous learning.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Teresa, our brilliant bank carer at Glebe House, is about to begin an exciting new chapter. Starting this September, Teresa will be heading off to study Medicine, with the goal of becoming a doctor 👩‍⚕️🥼. Teresa has been a valued member of our team, known for her kindness, dedication, and wonderful sense of humour. She’s made a lasting impact on both residents and colleagues, and her presence will be deeply missed.

🏡 Glebe House Launches Local Survey to Shape Free Activities for Residents and Neighbours

Glebe House is reaching out to the wonderful residents of Almondsbury with an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of community engagement. As part of our commitment to giving back, we’re inviting local neighbours to share their ideas through the Almondsbury Community Survey – a quick and easy way to help us design free sessions, activities, and support services that truly reflect what the community wants.

Whether it’s social meetups, live music, gentle exercise, arts and crafts, expert talks, or bereavement support, the ideas are important to us. These inputs will help us create events that bring people together and make Almondsbury an even more connected and caring place to live.

🏅 Quarry House Celebrates a Family Affair in Care!

It was a proud moment at Quarry House as we celebrated a special uncle-and-niece duoSenior Carer Joseph and Carer Christabel – for their outstanding achievements in adult care.

Joseph, who joined the company in December 2022, was awarded his Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care. Over the past three years, he has grown from carer to senior carer and now regularly steps up as a team leader on shift.

Christabel, who joined in December 2024, was equally committed and successfully earned her Care Certificate, marking a strong start to her journey in care. Their certificates were proudly presented by Clinical Lead Grace and RN Rex, with warm congratulations from the whole team.

🌞 Quarry House Summer Fair Raises £526.84 for Alzheimer’s Society

On 16th August, Quarry House hosted a joyful Summer Fair filled with fun, laughter, and community spirit – all in support of a meaningful cause.

The event aimed to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society, helping support vital work for those living with dementia. Residents enjoyed a variety of activities, games, and treats, making it a day full of smiles and memorable moments.

Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of everyone involved, we proudly raised £526.84! 💙 A heartfelt thank you to all who participated, donated, or helped make the fair a success. Every contribution brings us one step closer to making a difference in the fight against dementia.

🧠 Quarry House: Testing Our Knowledge!

At Quarry House, our team took part in a Bed Rails Knowledge Quiz – a fun and informative way to refresh our understanding of safe bed rail use in care. Everyone got involved, showing great enthusiasm and commitment to learning. To add a little excitement, a prize will be awarded at random to one lucky participant!

🍂 Quarry House Gathers for a Heartfelt Harvest Service

Quarry House is embracing the spirit of giving this autumn with a Harvest Service Donations event that took place on Friday, 26th September 2025.

Staff, residents, and visitors were encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items –including packets (like rice, pasta, and cereal), tins (vegetables, beans, soup), bottles (juice, sauces, long-life milk), and other dried goods.

These donations will go directly to support local families in need. The beautifully decorated display at Quarry House serves as a warm reminder of the power of community and compassion. Every contribution, big or small, is helping to make a meaningful difference.

With over 20 years of experience in administration and a strong background in care settings, Joanne brings both compassion and professionalism to her role. She’s passionate about supporting others and making sure everyone who walks through our doors feels welcomed and cared for.

🥐 Field House Treats Staff for Wellness Wednesday! 🍩

At Field House, we believe in celebrating our team – and this Wellness Wednesday, we did just that with a tray full of delicious pastries!

From croissants to pain au chocolat, our amazing staff were invited to help themselves to a sweet treat as a small token of appreciation for all the care and dedication they bring every day.

With 15 years of experience in sales and marketing within the insurance sector, Karla brought valuable skills that didn’t go unnoticed. She’s now thriving as an Admin Assistant at Glebe House, showing how passion and potential can lead to exciting new roles.
