At Bristol Care Homes, we’re proud to be creating environments that prioritise dignity, independence, and comfort. Back in April 2024 and again in our October 2024 update, we shared the launch and early progress of our en-suite shower installation project across all our homes.
Today, we’re pleased to bring you another update as the project continues to move forward smoothly, bringing lasting benefits to our residents and their families.
Steady Progress, Beautiful Results
We’re delighted to report that work continues at a strong pace, with significant progress now visible in several of our homes.
At Glebe House, 14 bathrooms have now been upgraded, including two stunning deluxe en-suites in our premium rooms. Over at Beech House, 10 bathrooms have been fully converted — each one thoughtfully designed to maximise space, accessibility, and visual appeal. At Field House, several rooms have also been completed, with work continuing steadily. (Final numbers to be confirmed).
Each room now features clean, modern styling with Thurlestone White tiles and a subtle touch of personality added via a feature strip of Thurlestone Mix décor tile above the sink. This elegant combination adds a touch of warmth and refinement to every space, creating bathrooms that feel fresh, comfortable, and homely.

Minimising Disruption, Maximising Care
As with earlier phases, work is carefully coordinated to ensure minimal disruption to our residents. Contractors are completing the upgrades room by room, allowing the rhythm of daily life – from meals to social activities – to continue uninterrupted.
Our teams across the homes continue to put residents’ comfort first, working closely with contractors to maintain familiar routines, peace, and a welcoming atmosphere throughout.
Positive Feedback Continues
The feedback from residents and their families has been overwhelmingly encouraging. Families have expressed their gratitude for the investment in both comfort and dignity, and residents have shared excitement about the increased privacy and convenience the en-suite showers provide.
The deluxe rooms in particular have been a hit – combining practical upgrades with an added touch of luxury.

This project is a cornerstone in our ongoing mission to deliver the highest quality of care and living standards. As more rooms are completed over the coming months, we look forward to sharing more updates and celebrating the transformation alongside our residents and their loved ones.
